Ecuador, as a major banana producer and exporter, plays a significant role in the global economy. This article focuses on analyzing the comparative status of Ecuadorian banana exports to Germany before and after the Trade Agreement with the EU during the period 2015-2018. The main objectives include analyzing banana production and exports, as well as their impact on the Ecuadorian economy. The general objective is to analyze the production and export of bananas, and its impact on the Ecuadorian Economy. As for the methodology used in the research, a mixed approach was used, which included qualitative and quantitative aspects. Interviews and surveys were conducted with professionals representing banana exporting companies to obtain their opinions and experiences on bilateral agreements in banana exports. The study population included banana companies registered in Ecuador. The results reveal that Ecuador is the largest banana exporter in the world, generating significant revenues for the country. Banana exports have been consistently important, representing a key economic pillar after oil. The trade relationship with the European Union has been beneficial in general terms, although contradictory impacts have been observed with Germany, especially in the period after 2017.
