Higher education institutions and other organizations must carry out actions that allow the analysis of their processes, through organizational diagnostic tools. The objective of this study is to analyze the strategic planning of a Higher Education institution in Colombia from the Balanced Scorecard approach. The research is descriptive hermeneutic, with case studies. The research is carried out in four phases: the first analyzes the incorporation of the organization's stakeholders, the second measures the support activities and the primary activities of the organization, the third determines the performance profile, and the fourth calculates the balances of the perspectives of the actors. The results show that the performance profile and the attractiveness of the market also show justification for conservation and aggressive protection against competition. It can be concluded that the use of the Balanced Scorecard was beneficial for the institution under study to highlight its quality principles and for the management of institutional planning.
